About Jagmandir Island Palace

A private 17th-century palace floating in the middle of Lake Pichola — accessible only by boat. Said to have inspired Shah Jahan's Taj Mahal.

Maharana Karan Singh built Jagmandir to shelter Prince Khurram (later Shah Jahan) during his rebellion against his father. Khurram's stay here is believed to have inspired the Taj Mahal's marble pavilions.
